Can you tell us more about the dress code?

We know, colorful cocktail hour as a vibe is a bit hard to understand.

  • If you prefer to dress femme, consider a cocktail dress that with vibrant colors and/or florals. Beware of heels (see below.)

  • If you prefer to dress masculine, consider a suit. There’s no need to wear a tie! Colorful suits are encouraged, but not required.

Please remember that our venue will have some uneven ground. We encourage supportive and comfortable shoes. Beware of heels!

If you’re curious about what “colorful” could mean with our theme, hopefully our wedding color palette can help. Note: we don’t expect you to match these colors!

A lot of our colors and mood are inspired by this bouquet!

When you see these signs driving, SLOW DOWN. You're about to go over a speed bump that you likely cannot see (they are not painted yellow.) These can damage your car if you don't slow down.

Anything else we should know about Mérida?

  • Brush up on your basic Spanish! Most places in Mérida will be Spanish-first and potentially Spanish-speaking only.

  • Mérida does not have potable water. It's safe to bathe and brush your teeth but not to consume. We will have bottled water throughout the reception but remember to buy additional bottled water when you are in town, it's very cheap!

  • Mérida has Uber (no Lyft) to explore without renting a car. Note: Ubers can take 15-20 minutes to arrive, so plan accordingly. We suggest renting a car if you plan to visit sites outside of the city (beaches, ruins, cenotes, etc.)

  • On arrival to Mérida’s airport, you must take an airport taxi to your hotel — there are no Uber’s available (anticipate ~$20 USD worth of Pesos, i.e., about $400 MXN). You can take an Uber to the airport.

  • Download offline Google maps! You can use these without wifi/data. Follow these instructions on how to download offline maps in Google Maps.

  • Ask to add tip to your bills before you give your credit card, otherwise be ready to tip in pesos. A 15% tip is standard (10-20% range.)

  • Cocktails usually only include 1 shot. In New York City, they typically include 2. Wine is often more expensive than cocktails.

  • When returning to the USA, you must stop at the immigration counter in the Mérida airport to get your boarding passes stamped. The counter is after security. This is required to board an international flight.

  • Our wedding planners have recommended the following childcare services. Please feel to contact them if you plan on bringing your children to Mérida and need childcare while attending wedding events.
